Miguel Varea, Quito, 1948. plastic artist and ecuadorian writer. Since the late 60s he has been part of an artistic movement that shows itself irreverent in the face of both state power and the cultural fields. His work dialogues between drawing and text, this allows to open alternative readings of his work. Varea nurtures his art of contentious speeches that face official powers. The line of his drawing and many of his paintings is the main structure where his ideas are sustained.
